I Broke my Leg

I Broke my Leg -or- Mike Jonas Doesn’t Ride a Bike

Yep, just one injury after another. About a month ago I jammed my foot into the ground, after getting sketchy on a jump, and somehow ended up with a depressed fracture at the top of my tibia. That means the bone went inwards. And since the doctors were all jerks, It wasn’t diagnosed until about two weeks after it happened. As a result It’s to late fix it with surgery and now I have a permanent crevice at the top of my tibia.

The current doctor I’m seeing seems to think that It’ll heal okay and that it will be 100% when it heals. I’m still really worried about it though since If the depression in my tibia does turn out to be a problem, I’m told that there’s not many options for fixing it. So hopefully I don’t have issues with my femur slipping into my tibia depression or whatever.

Here’s an old clip of me from 2003 that I just came across. That snow jump took me like 20 hours to build, but it was totally worth it! I just wish more people could have ridden it with me.

I fractured my foot

I’m going to be out for a few weeks. I broke a bone in my foot trying a flip to fakie at the huntington park. It was my first time trying it on the ramp there and I ended up pushing out too much, causing me to do a backflip 8ft to flat. I hopped off the bike when I realized i wasn’t landing it and then just landed awkwardly on my feet.

It wasn’t that bad. I actually did another one right afterwards, before the pain and swelling set in. Then I drove home and went to the hospital.

Here’s the media for the day:

Murphy’s Law

Stripped cranks, blown out tires, rain, puddles, gas prices, and more. Me and Darryl had planned a camp out at greenport, but of course everything went wrong. We got to greenport at 10pm, had a mellow park sesh, and then set up camp at around 2am in the baseball dugout next-door. We planned to wake up super early and ride the park all day the next day. Unfortunately it rained from 7am till 1pm, which killed any chance of riding the skatepark.

Despite all of the setbacks, we made the best of it and still had some fun. Click the photos for descriptions and such.

Bleh

Riding every day is definitely taking a toll on me. I have to take a few days off, or at least take it easy for a while so I can let my bruises heal. I keep smashing my shins on things and they’re like 2″ bigger in diameter then they’re supposed to be. It sucks.

I haven’t been productive at all lately because of my riding binge. Everyone knows I don’t have a real job so It’s hard to come up with excuses not to go out. Well I’m finally feeling motivated to get back to business again. Maybe i’ll make some posts about how to go about making money on the internet soon. Or maybe not

SD card cannot be found

My Transcend (brand) SD card died the other day after taking a few photo’s, so I lost a bunch of photo’s and photo opportunities. For now I’m stuck using a 128mb card which could only hold about 30 medium quality photo’s. Here’s a few photo’s from the past two days of street riding and hanging out at the trails and Ryan Hoey’s video premier.
